Key certifications:

SNR 26

An SNR of 26 means that the hearing protection is estimated to reduce noise levels by an average of 26 decibels across various frequencies.

'SNR' in hearing protection stands for 'Single Number Rating,' which is a single value used to indicate the average level of noise reduction a hearing protection device provides across different frequencies, essentially telling you how much sound attenuation the earplugs or earmuffs will offer when worn correctly; the higher the SNR value, the greater the noise reduction level is considered to be.

SNR is primarily used as a rating system in Europe, while North America often uses 'NRR' (Noise Reduction Rating) and Australia/New Zealand use 'SLC80'; which both differ slightly in calculation.

Hygiene:

  • Do not share your custom-molded earplugs with others to maintain hygiene and prevent potential infections.

Instructions

How to create the perfect mould:
Here’s the important part, as making sure your ear plugs fit your ears well is the difference between a great pair that will last you years and an ill-fitting pair. Here’s how to use mouldable silicone putty to get a tight fit:

  • Make sure your hands and ears are clean and dry.
  • Mix the two given components by hand to create a putty of one solid colour.
  • Use your fingertips to warm the putty up.
  • Roll the material into a ball.
  • Place the putty into the outer ear canal, avoiding the inner ear - do not insert it into the ear canal.
  • Press the material flat against the head and leave to set for the amount of time instructed on the packaging.

Top tips to get the perfect fit:

  • When fitting the putty, pull the top part of your ear up and away from your head. This will make it easier for air to escape.
  • Open your mouth when inserting the putty, as your ear canal changes depending on your jaw’s position.
  • Remove excess putty once you have fitted the moulds to make them comfortable to wear in the future.
