Description

The Only Re-Moldable DIY Custom Earplugs!

The Decibullz DIY custom ear plug molding process is virtually foolproof: if your custom molds don't fit after the first try, just heat them up again and give it another shot. Repeat until you're totally satisfied.

Decibullz thermoplastic material really sets them apart from all other custom molded earplugs. Other custom molded earplugs require that you mix two components by hand to create a putty; you must then quickly use the putty to mold to the shape of your ears before it sets up; and when the putty dries, you use those ear molds you just created "as-is" as a set of DIY, homemade earplugs. Decibullz has no putty to mix, which means no mess, and less stress -- with Decibullz, there's no race to get the ear plugs molded to fit right before the material sets up. Decibullz custom earplugs are clean, quick, easy, and attractive: available in red, black, blue, pink, and orange.

Decibullz are easy to customize and simple to fit. They offer NRR 31 protection from noise, which makes these custom ear plugs ideal for a huge range of applications, including shooting, traveling, mowing, snow-blowing, swimming, and live music, festivals and concerts. The Decibullz custom fit will provide hours upon hours of effective, comfortable hearing protection.

Key certifications:

NRR 31

An NRR of 31 means that the hearing protection is estimated to reduce noise levels by an average of 31 decibels across various frequencies.

'NRR' in hearing protection stands for 'Noise Reduction Rating,' which is a single value used to indicate the average level of noise reduction a hearing protection device provides across different frequencies, essentially telling you how much sound attenuation the earplugs or earmuffs will offer when worn correctly; the higher the NRR value, the greater the noise reduction level is considered to be.

NRR is primarily used as a rating system in North America, while Europe often uses 'SNR' (Single Number Rating) and Australia/New Zealand use 'SLC80'; which both differ slightly in calculation.

Product Care

WARNING! Improper fitting or misuse of earplugs will reduce their effectiveness and could result in hearing loss or injury:

  • Test earplugs in progressively louder environments. If at any time you feel like you don't have a sound isolating seal or don't feel properly protected remove yourself from that environment immediately. Do not enter a loud environment right away. Start in a quiet, low noise environment and slowly increase your noise exposure to make sure your Decibullz are providing adequate protection.
  • To prevent hearing loss always wear hearing protection when exposed to noise levels 85 dBA or higher. NOTE: The NRR system may overestimate the hearing protection provided during typical use. Decibullz recommends reducing the NRR by 50% for estimating the amount of noise reduction provided.
  • Wear hearing protection at all times that you are exposed to loud noise
  • The molding process involves heating your molds and forming them to your ears. DO NOT PLACE THE HOT MOLD IN TO YOUR EAR. Wait until the mold is warm and pliable.
  • Remove all objects and piercings from the concha or bowl of the ear before molding the earplugs. Piercings can become trapped in the molding material.
  • CHOKING HAZARD: Keep small parts away from children and pets. Parts are nontoxic but may interfere with breathing if caught in windpipe.

ALWAYS MAKE SURE EARPLUGS AND EARPHONES ARE INSERTED CORRECTLY BEFORE USE:

1. Check the fit of your custom Decibullz product before entering any loud environment. Be sure that once the custom earpieces are in place, that they seal the ear closed. Once you put both earpieces in, check the fit by talking loudly. You should be able to hear your voice clearly, but at a reduced volume, and the noises around you should not sound as loud as they did before you put the earpieces in. Repeat test two additional times, wearing only one earpiece at a time to compare actual volume to filtered volume, and to be sure both ears are getting an equivalent seal.

2. If you aren’t sure you have inserted the earpiece correctly, or if you feel that you are not getting a complete seal of the ear canal, take it out of your ear and try some of the other tips provided in the packaging. If, after trying the different sizes and styles of tips, you still do not feel the earpieces are fitting correctly or providing a proper seal, then you may need to remold your custom plastic earpieces.

3. Re-check the fit often. Your earpieces may loosen up when you talk and chew. If this happens, you could lose protection from loud noise.
